A brand new addition to the Moray running calendar arrives on Sunday 6 September 2026 as the Buckie 10K makes its debut. Organised under a Scottish Athletics permit, the event promises a welcoming race day experience with chip timing, a bespoke finisher's medal and a scenic road course linking Buckie and Findochty.

Starting outside the Fisherman's Hall in Buckie, the accurately measured 10K heads through the town centre before continuing towards the neighbouring coastal village of Findochty. Runners then enjoy a fast return along the Moray Coastal cycle route, creating a memorable finish with sea views and traffic free running for a large section of the journey.

A water station at halfway, live music on the course and a distinctive chunky finisher's medal all add to the occasion. Awards will be presented to the first three male and female finishers on gun time, with additional prizes across the age categories. Changing facilities, baggage storage and refreshments are also available at race headquarters.

The event welcomes runners aged 16 and over and follows current Scottish Athletics regulations, including the use of bone conducting headphones only. With a generous cut off time of 1 hour 45 minutes, the race is designed to be accessible to a wide range of abilities.

Entries are still open for this inaugural event, but with race day approaching, runners interested in being part of the first Buckie 10K should secure their place soon. Combining coastal scenery, a fast finish and a friendly community atmosphere, it promises to be an exciting new addition to Scotland's autumn racing calendar.
