Scottish 5K Champs

Scotland's Best Head To Silverknowes

Top fields set for Scottish 5K Championships at Silverknowes this Friday...

One of Scotland’s standout road races returns this Friday evening (16 May) as the Scottish 5K Championships once again take centre stage at Silverknowes in Edinburgh. Firmly established as one of the most hotly anticipated events on the calendar, the 2025 edition is expected to deliver another fast and competitive night of racing.

Strong fields in both the men’s and women’s races promise high-quality action from the gun, with medals on offer for Seniors, U20s, Masters (in 10-year age bands from V40 onwards) and teams. Recent mild weather could help produce favourable conditions, and with a stacked entry list, the pace at the front looks likely to be fierce regardless of wind on the exposed coastal course.

In the men’s race, former champion and Flat n Fast 5K winner Jamie Crowe will go head-to-head with cross country rival Logan Rees in what promises to be a thrilling battle. They’ll be joined by a clutch of top-tier contenders including Ryan Thomson, Hamish Hickey, Callum Tharme, Sean Chalmers, Jamie Burns, Ben Sandilands and Taha Ghafari.

The women’s race also boasts considerable depth. Triple champion Annabel Simpson returns, as does previous winner Lynn McKenna. Challengers likely to be in the medal mix include Brogan Wallace, Kirsty Walker and Nancy Scott.

The race, organised by Adrian Stott and the Sri Chinmoy team, is known for its slick delivery and supportive atmosphere. Whether chasing a PB or vying for medals, Friday night’s 5K is shaping up to be another classic in the capital.
