This 10K Is A Natural Beauty

Secure your place at this scenic Rother Valley 10K event this autumn...

The Sheffield City 10K is set to return on 12 October, offering runners an autumn race experience at the scenic Rother Valley Country Park. Known for its tranquil lakes, wooded trails and open views across the Derbyshire border, the event has become a popular fixture on the local running calendar.

Runners will take on two laps of the picturesque parkland course, which is designed to highlight the natural beauty of the area. Whether aiming for a personal best or simply enjoying the run at a steady pace, participants will be treated to a well-marked route, supportive atmosphere and a chance to soak in the changing colours of the season.

The course records stand at 33:37 for men, set by Marcus Dey of Manchester University in 2022, and 39:33 for women, set by Marsha Hanby of Sheffield in 2024. With its flat profile and scenic surroundings, the route continues to attract both competitive club runners and those new to racing.

Beyond the finish line, Rother Valley Country Park offers a variety of attractions for both runners and supporters. Families can make a day of it with picnic areas and waterside walks, adding to the event’s appeal as more than just a race.

Organised by MCC Promotions, the Sheffield City 10K combines a fast, enjoyable course with a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere - what more could you want?
