Longridge Lamplight Trail Run

Running By Lamplight

New night time event marks a new addition to Lancashire's trail running calendar...

A new night time trail race will make its debut this spring as the Longridge Lamplight Trail Run launches on Saturday 28 March. The charity 10K event will begin at 7pm in Longridge, guiding runners across bridleways, footpaths and open farmland in the surrounding Ribble Valley.

Organised by the Rotary Club of Longridge & North Preston, the inaugural event will take runners through rural landscapes alongside the River Ribble, an area known for its wildlife and sweeping countryside views.

A spokesperson told us: "Our new event will offer competitors the chance to experience the Ribble Valley’s landscapes in a distinctive evening setting. Headtorches will be mandatory for participants tackling the predominantly dark, off road route, with trail shoes strongly recommended."

With an entry fee of only £15, the event is designed to be accessible while raising funds for charitable causes. A post race gathering is planned at the start and finish area, where participants and spectators will be able to enjoy refreshments from an on site gin distillery bar.
