The Bourton Half returns on Sunday 27 September 2026, inviting runners to take on one of the Cotswolds' best known road races. Organised by Bourton Roadrunners, the accurately measured Half Marathon combines picturesque villages, testing climbs and sweeping rural scenery, making it a favourite with runners looking for a rewarding challenge rather than a flat personal best course.

Starting and finishing at Greystones Farm in Bourton on the Water, the single lap 13.1 mile route heads through the centre of the village before crossing the River Windrush and tackling The Steeps, the first of the course's signature climbs. From there, runners follow quiet country lanes through Farmington and Sherborne before taking on the final ascent to Clapton on the Hill, rewarded by a long downhill run back into Bourton on the Water for the finish.

The Bourton Half is part of the 2026 Gloucestershire AAA Road Racing Series and also incorporates the Gloucestershire County Half Marathon Championships. A cash prize structure, including course record bonuses, attracts competitive club runners, while the welcoming atmosphere and stunning setting continue to appeal to runners of all abilities.

Professional chip timing is provided by LuSH Timing, with live provisional results available on race day subject to connectivity. Finishers also receive priority entry to the 2027 Bourton 10K, one of the benefits that has helped establish the Bourton Half as a popular fixture on the autumn racing calendar.
