Worthing 10K PB celebration

Over 2,000 Run Worthing 10K

Oh, we do like to PB by the seaside!

They poured across the finish line on Worthing's historic Marine Parade for 90 minutes. Run Base Events' Worthing 10K was back in town on Sunday, 8 June 2025, and the PB-Ding-A-Ling thing was rung with gusto!

The Sussex seafront race has seen competitor numbers grow year-on-year from 1,295 in 2022 to 1,876 last year. This year's finisher count was 2,139 as the race was won in a blistering 30:51.

There was delight for supporters as local star Jack Woods (Worthing & District Harriers) sprinted clear to win by 13 seconds from Simon Heath (Brighton Phoenix AC, 31:04) and Marcus Shantry (Headington Road Runners, 31:14 PB).

Cassie Thorp (City of Portsmouth AC, 34:50) won the women's race by an even closer margin of six seconds from Kate Drew (Brighton Phoenix, 34:56) and Emma Ingham (King's College London, 35:41 PB).

A huge 160 runners beat 40 minutes; nearly 750 went sub-50 minutes, and 1,500 cruised home in less than an hour on the slick Sussex seafront course, with just 18 metres of elevation gained.

The race start and finish are on Worthing Promenade, 500m west of Worthing's 1862 Pier. The route is out-and-back past Marine Gardens to Goring-by-Sea before returning to the finish near Worthing Lido.

The programme includes a Junior Mile race won by Worthing & District Harriers' Charlie Read (U15, 5:38) and eighth fastest overall Willow Hickey (U13, 6:20).

Next year's race date is Sunday 7 June 2026, and details are available here.
