The Wall Ultramarathon Sells Out Again
Iconic 70 mile ultra fills for 2026 with demand already building for 2027...
The Wall Ultramarathon returns on Saturday 13 June 2026, taking runners from Carlisle to Gateshead over a 70 mile route following the historic line of Hadrian’s Wall.
Starting at Carlisle Castle and finishing on the Quayside in Gateshead, the event offers a fully supported journey across mixed terrain, combining trails, paths and road sections through some of the most scenic parts of northern England.
Widely regarded as one of the UK’s most recognisable ultramarathons, the event has built a reputation as an accessible step into ultra distance running, with a generous cut off time and a high completion rate attracting runners of varying experience.
The route follows the Hadrian’s Wall corridor before heading towards Hexham and then along the River Tyne into the finish, offering a varied but runnable profile for an event of this distance.
Entries for the 2026 event are now closed, reflecting continued demand for places. However, a waiting list is in place for 2027, giving runners the opportunity to secure a spot for the next edition of the race.
As one of the standout endurance challenges in the North, The Wall Ultramarathon continues to draw strong interest from runners looking to take on a point to point ultra across a unique and historic landscape.
