Rutland Night 10K

Light Running At Night

This super-bright, super-scenic night time race is back in November...

Each November runners are treated to the opportunity to experience Rutland Water after dark thanks to the Rutland Night 10K which boasts beautiful lights around the entire course. This year's event will take place on 8/9 November and organisers, Pacesetter Events, tell us that the bright event is for everyone to come and enjoy a fantastic experience no matter what their ability: "You don't always need to race, you can come and enjoy the atmosphere."

The eye-catching night event takes place on both the Friday and Saturday evenings and starts and finishes at one of Rutland's most recognisable landmarks, Normanton Church. The church will be beautifully illuminated making it visible throughout the whole course which is completely traffic free and on well-maintained footpaths which will be subtly illuminated throughout."

The course heads along the south shore before completing the length of the Dam. Runners will then pass through Sykes Lane where views of the route already completed will be spectacular. Speaking about the course conditions, organisers say: "After a few hundred metres the majority of the route is Tarmac. We cannot promise there won't be damp sections, especially in the wooded areas. At this time of year the tracks can be muddy and covered in leaves."

The 2023 race proved popular with runners, Abi Walker commented: "Loved it tonight, second year running and already itching to sign up for 2024! Hope I'm not working!! Thanks for a fab event again!"
