It's Time For The Juniors
Run For All's junior races will have the added benefit of chip timing in 2026...
Young runners will receive an enhanced race day experience in 2026 as Run For All introduces chip timing across all of its Junior events. The change means children taking part in the Junior races will now receive official finish times, allowing them to track their performance while still enjoying the fun and inclusive atmosphere the series is known for.
Organisers say: "The introduction of official timing reflects growing demand from families who want children to experience the structure and excitement of a measured race while keeping participation at the heart of the events."
The new system will be in place from the Junior races staged alongside the City of Lincoln 10K in Lincoln on 11 April, where children can take part in a 2.5K Junior race or a 1.5K Mini event. The Lincoln event is widely regarded as one of the county’s best-loved running occasions, attracting participants of all abilities to a fast and scenic city centre course lined with supporters.
Chip timing will also feature at the Junior programme connected to the GEAR 10K in King’s Lynn, where families can take part in the Mini GEAR 1.9K event following the main race. The long-established event draws thousands of runners each year to a flat and accessible route through the historic market town, with young participants sharing in the same celebratory atmosphere as the senior field.
Mini events will continue to run alongside the chip-timed Junior races, ensuring younger children and first-time participants can still take part in a relaxed and inclusive environment.
