Ayrshire 10K's Ten Year Party!
Help North Ayrshire AC celebrate their event's ten year anniversary this September...
North Ayrshire Athletics Club is preparing to celebrate the 10th edition of its much-loved NAAC 10K race this autumn, with a packed day of running and family fun scheduled for Sunday 7 September. Marking a milestone for the event, the club is rolling out special incentives and expanded children’s races to mark the occasion.
Taking place at St Matthews Academy in Saltcoats, the race will once again start and finish on the school’s athletics track. The fast, flat 10K route is a favourite with PB-chasers, taking runners along the scenic promenade, tarmac paths, a disused railway line and pavements, with just one small hill in the second half of the course.
In keeping with its ethos as a family-friendly club, NAAC is reintroducing its chip-timed 2K Youth Run for children aged 6 to 15, as well as a 400m fun run for younger kids. All participants in both junior events will receive a t-shirt and medal, just like the 10K runners.
To celebrate the 10th running of the event, organisers are offering a little something back. Everyone who enters by 3 May will be entered into a prize draw, with ten lucky winners receiving their full entry fee back.
Whether you’re looking to chase a PB, take on your first 10K, or get the kids involved in a fun and friendly race day, the NAAC 10K continues to be a highlight on the North Ayrshire running calendar.
