Great Manchester Run Medal 2026

First look at the 2026 Great Manchester Run finishers medal...

With race day fast approaching, organisers of the AJ Bell Great Manchester Run have revealed the 2026 finishers medal, giving thousands of runners an early glimpse of what awaits them at the finish line on Sunday 31 May.

Inspired by the city itself, this year’s medal features a striking 3D embossed design that celebrates Manchester’s rich industrial heritage. Built around a series of overlapping hexagon shapes, the design reflects the iconic bee and hive, symbolising how the Great Manchester Run sits at the heart of the city’s running community.

Finished in a distinctive golden tone, the medal combines elements of brickwork and metal engraving to capture the look and feel of Manchester’s industrial past while still delivering a modern and premium finish.

On the reverse, the famous Manchester Bee takes centre stage, representing the hard work and collective spirit that drives runners from the start line to the finish. Subtle detailing inspired by the stripes of the worker bee runs throughout the design, while a bold splash of yellow on the half marathon medal pays tribute to the legendary Hacienda.

More than just a medal, it reflects the character of the event itself. From elite athletes chasing records to first time finishers crossing the line, from charities raising vital funds to the crowds that line the streets in support, the Great Manchester Run continues to be shaped by the people of the city.

With just weeks to go, the medal reveal adds another layer of excitement to one of the North’s biggest running events and a reminder of the reward waiting at the finish line.
