Turkey Trot Back For 2025!
After a one year hiatus in 2024, Ayr's popular festive offering returns to the race calendar...
Autumn has arrived and so, for many, the countdown to Christmas is now on which means it is time to start planning for one of Scotland’s many festive running fixtures. The Ayrodynamic Triathlon Club 10K Turkey Trot and 5K Fun Run returns to Ayr on 27 December, bringing runners of all ages and abilities together for a final burst of end-of-year energy.
After a break in 2024, the event is back and ready to take over the Ayr seafront with two races. The morning begins with the family-friendly 5K Fun Run, a flat out-and-back course along the beach promenade, perfect for all ages. The headline 10K Turkey Trot follows, offering a fast and scenic road route from Ayr promenade to Doonfoot, over the Millennium Bridge, up to Greenan Castle and back to the finish line.
New for 2025, race HQ will be based at The Cutty-Sark Centre at the bottom of Ayr High Street, where registration and number collection will take place. The 10K race will start from the Citadel Leisure Centre, with a small prizegiving for the top three in both the Open and Female categories. All finishers in both races will receive a medal.
Whether you are chasing a personal best, aiming for a podium finish or simply looking for a fun way to work off some Christmas dinner, the Turkey Trot offers a fantastic way to close out 2025 and start 2026 on the right foot.
