Chieftains To Run Glamis
A brand new event will debut at Glamis Castle in a month's time...
Runners looking for a unique test of strength and endurance are invited to take part in the first-ever Chieftain Race, taking place on 19 July at the historic Glamis Castle.
Organisers, Wee Run Events, told us: "This new addition to our popular Glamis Castle event series offers a carry-themed challenge like no other, time is ticking until race day so sign up soon!"
The concept is simple but tough: runners must complete up to four 5K loops, each one with an increasingly heavy item to carry, participants can choose to tackle just one lap or go the distance with all four. With the course fully marked and clearly signposted, those taking part can focus on the task at hand - carrying their loads through one of Scotland’s most picturesque race venues.
Finishers will be able to refuel with food and drink available at the castle, and optional event T-shirts will be available for those wanting to mark the day in style. Of course, everyone who crosses the finish line will receive a bespoke Chieftain Race medal.
Final word with the organisers: "Entries are limited for our debut edition to help us gather valuable feedback and ensure a smooth experience. Join us for a fresh kind of challenge and a memorable day of running."
