Still Time To Run This Inaugural Trail Event

With a brand-new course and inspirational speakers this inaugural trail festival is set to land in just over a fortnight...

A brand-new event is making its debut this summer as the Protein Rebel Running Festival hosts its first-ever 10K trail race on 5 July at Aqueduct Marina in Church Minshull, Cheshire. Promising a unique mix of running and motivational speakers, this inaugural festival is designed to bring together runners of all levels for a full day of trail running fun.

The event is being organised by Protein Rebel alongside Rob and Ben from the Couch to Coached podcast, with the aim of creating a friendly and energising environment for runners. The day begins with a group warm-up led by Becs from Excel Fitness, followed by a race briefing before the 10K gets underway.

The trail route is a first for the area, set in the heart of the peaceful Cheshire Plain. Never before raced, the course covers three loops of 3.4K, taking runners across open fields, through woodland and along riverside paths. The terrain is mostly flat but includes a few undulating sections to keep things interesting.

After the race, the festival continues with a series of inspiring talks from well-known figures in the running world. Helen Ryvar, who holds the Guinness World Record for completing 1,000 half marathons in 1,000 days, will be sharing her story. Also taking the stage will be Ben and Ste with their powerful account of how running helped them turn their lives around, Laura and Katie with a message of motivation for women in sport, and Rhino Boy Chris, famous for completing over 100 marathons and ultras in a rhino costume.

The day also includes a 2.5K fun run in the afternoon, open to runners of all ages and abilities. Friends and family not taking part in the 10K are welcome to attend for free and enjoy the festival atmosphere. All profits from the festival will go to Save The Rhino, underlining the event’s commitment to both community and conservation.
