The Swan Challenge is a six hour timed endurance event organised by Big Bear Events and held at Coombe Abbey Park near Coventry. Using a multi lap format, runners and walkers choose how many laps to complete within the six hour time limit, making the event suitable for everyone from first time 5K participants to experienced ultra marathon runners.
Each lap covers approximately 3.3 miles on a predominantly flat course through Coombe Abbey Park. The route follows mainly stone pathways with a short section across open meadow, offering a scenic and accessible circuit with plenty of tree cover. Participants can stop after any lap or continue throughout the event, with distances including 5K, Half Marathon, Marathon and Ultra Marathon all possible within the time limit.
The event welcomes runners, walkers and those taking part in rucking, with race headquarters based within Coombe Abbey Park. Combining a flexible format, attractive parkland setting and a supportive atmosphere, the Swan Challenge is a popular fixture in the Big Bear Events endurance calendar.
