Sunset Running Festival

Sunset Run

Run into a stunning summer sunset with this fantastic multi distance running event...

Run into a stunning summer sunset at this year's Sunset Running Festival. There are three distances to choose from on 6 July, which will be the fourth outing for this Blast Running organised event.

The course is set along the flat, tarmac Silverknowes Promenade in Edinburgh meaning runners are blessed with great views and potentially favourable running conditions. Organisers say: "There are no hills or undulations which gives runners a good chance of achieving personal bests or fast times!"

The event is lap-based, with each lap measuring just over four miles, this format allows participants to choose their preferred distance. The distance options include a 7K (one lap), Half Marathon (three laps), Individual Marathon (six laps), or Relay Marathon (a minimum of one lap each runner).

The festival is an inclusive and fami-friendly event with a 1K kids race
in addition to the main distances. Organisers comment: "Our kids race provides an opportunity for younger participants to join the event and experience the joy of running!"

Those taking part will be rewarded with medals at the finish line as well as a goodie bag and we've heard that there will once again be post-race woodfired pizza.

The event saw runners participate in extremely warm conditions in 2023, with this in mind hydration stations will be available twice per lap to ensure that participants have access to hydration and popular energy drink, Active Root, to support their performance every two miles.
