The Stiperstones Fell Race is organised by Mercia Fell Runners and takes place from Snailbeach in the Shropshire Hills. Covering 6.7K with approximately 375 metres of ascent, the race is a popular midweek challenge that combines classic fell running with spectacular hill scenery.
The route starts in Snailbeach before making a long, steady climb to the summit ridge of the Stiperstones. From there, runners enjoy a fast descent before crossing Perkins Beach and Crowsnest Dingle, returning via open fields to the finish. The varied terrain, sustained climbing and technical descending provide an enjoyable test for experienced fell runners and newcomers to the discipline alike.
Held under Fell Runners Association rules, the event welcomes both pre entries and entries on the day, with proceeds supporting local charities and conservation of the Stiperstones. Combining classic Shropshire fell running, friendly organisation and an iconic hill route, the Stiperstones Fell Race remains a popular fixture in the summer fell racing calendar.
