Swiftly will do it at Shelton Striders 10K
Limited number of places left in this PB-potential race.
There's less than a week to go to the Shelton Striders 10K (Sunday 9 October) and the strong likelihood of an autumn PB. There have been a few small changes to the course but it remains fast, flat and best of all – traffic free!
The Shelton Striders 10K is the penultimate event in the RunDerby Race Series which starts in May and finishes in November. This series consists of seven quality races where points are allocated based upon individual finishing positions in each one. It is a popular and competitive series.
Runners will have their ‘game faces’ on at this 10K with a route that lends itself to speedy times. Starting and finishing close to Boulton Lane Park Community Centre in Alvaston, Derby, it continues along canal paths, road, footpaths and pavements and is well signed and marshalled.
Shelton Striders RC is an environmentally-friendly club and has adopted a range of measures designed to be sustainable. These include no water station – people are asked to bring their own; the option to have a tree planted instead of a tech t-shirt and reusable banners instead of leaflets.
The course has been altered as per runner feedback. The Race HQ is staying in the same location.
For anyone unable to participate in the 10K there is a 2 Mile Fun Run, held on the canal path and nearby fields.
Time is running out to sign up with online entries closing Wednesday 5 October. If you are thinking about whether to enter now is the time to do so via the Shelton Striders RC website.
