Speedy Saucony 10K...
Sally Vest loved her t-shirt in the capacity entry Saucony London 10K...
Six men beat 30 minutes, and five women were faster than 36 minutes, in the Saucony London 10K on Sunday, 13 July 2025. The race was sold out for the third year in a row as over 13,000 completed the event organised by LimeLight Sports Club, the team behind the Oxford Half Marathon, Saucony Run Shoreditch and Hackney Moves races.
The compact course takes in all the main sights, including Buckingham Palace, St James's Palace, Victoria Embankment, Westminster Bridge, the London Eye, Piccadilly Circus, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey and Trafalgar Square before finishing on Whitehall, near Downing Street.
Alfie Manthorpe (Hallamshire Harriers, 29:33) set the pace to win by five seconds from Jared Ward (USA, 29:38), who was also runner-up last year. The international class of Mohamed Massat Bouzahar (29:42) from Spain secured third, and the next runners were Joshua Grace (Aldershot, 29:46), Ed Goddard (Australia, 29:54) and John Beattie (Leeds City AC, 29:54) – it was that close!
The international flavour continued in the women's race as Magali Jaunet (France, 34:14) won a sprint finish with Becky Briggs (City of Hull AC, 34:16) by two seconds. Greta Cerea (Italy, 35:16) completed the podium as Holly Archer (Cambridge & Coleridge AC, 35:30) and Erica Maculan (Italy, 35:38) also dipped inside 36:00.
A remarkable 550 runners finished within 40 minutes and more than 3,000 found 50 minutes to be no challenge on the flat, fast course. En-route entertainment included live bands and DJs, as the cheering crowds kept runners' spirits topped up to the max in one of London's biggest annual road races.
Sally Vest enjoyed her day out in London. After finishing 12,678th in 1:27:23, she posted: "Absolutely loved it, brilliantly organised, fantastic route, great medal and t-shirt! My first London 10K, but definitely not my last. Thank you, and thank you to all the supporters."
