Elf Race Dashes Back

Festive dash returns to Cammo Nature Reserve with a new 10K distance adding to the fun...

Festive running will return to Edinburgh's Cammo Nature Reserve on 21 December thanks to Blast Running's Santa and Elf Dash. Now a firm favourite on the city’s winter running calendar, the event invites participants of all ages to don their Santa hats and take to the scenic trails for a day of muddy, Christmas fun!

This year’s edition introduces a brand new 10K route, adding an extra challenge for those keen to stretch their legs before the big day. Runners can also choose between the 5K, a shorter but scenic trail route, or the Elf Dash, a 1K event perfect for younger participants.

The run weaves through the beautiful Cammo Nature Reserve, following riverside paths, open meadows and woodland trails. The course includes steps, narrow paths and wooden bridges - all creating a fun and varied challenge that showcases one of Edinburgh’s prettiest green spaces.

Every finisher will be rewarded with a medal, hot chocolate and cookies, while fancy dress is encouraged to add to the Christmas atmosphere. The event once again supports Young Lives vs Cancer, with £1 from every entry going directly to the charity, there will also be a collection point for the Edinburgh Food Project, inviting runners to bring non-perishable food items to help local families in need over the festive season.

Organisers say: "This event always sells out well ahead of race day, with hundreds of runners and families taking part each year. Whether you’re chasing a festive personal best or simply out for a joyful jog before Christmas please come and join us!"
