Run Like The Wind 10K is organised by Walney Wind Cheetahs and takes place on the scenic coastline of Walney Island in Cumbria. Accompanied by a family Fun Run, the event combines a fast coastal course with a welcoming community atmosphere, attracting runners of all abilities.
The accurately measured 10K follows a flat two lap route on roads and seafront paths, beginning near the Round House before heading towards the coast. Runners enjoy wide open views across the Irish Sea, pass Biggar Bank and the island's distinctive wind turbines, then complete a second lap before finishing by the West Shore Club. The flat profile makes the course well suited to runners chasing a personal best as well as those taking on their first 10K.
The event features chip timing, finisher's medals, category prizes and a fully marshalled course. Combining coastal scenery, fast running conditions and friendly local organisation, Run Like The Wind 10K has become an enjoyable addition to the Cumbria summer running calendar.
