Holmesfield Howler Trail Race

Race Will Make You Howl With Delight!

New trail race launches in the Peak District this autumn...

A brand-new trail race is set to make its debut in Derbyshire this autumn. The Holmesfield Howler will take place on 26 October, starting and finishing at Holmesfield Village Hall.

The event offers runners, joggers and walkers the chance to take on a six-mile self-guided route through the rolling hills, woodland and farmland that surround the picturesque village of Holmesfield, perched at the head of the Cordwell Valley on the edge of the Peak District National Park.

Participants will follow written instructions to navigate the course, which winds across bridleways and well-maintained paths, with the wild moors providing a dramatic backdrop. The undulating terrain promises a mix of challenge and reward, showcasing some of Derbyshire’s finest autumn scenery.

With a flexible start time and a relaxed format, the Holmesfield Howler is open to all abilities, from experienced trail runners to those simply looking to enjoy a scenic countryside adventure. Organisers remind entrants that while the paths are in good condition, October weather in the Peak District can be unpredictable, adding an extra element of excitement to this new event.
