Fresh Route For February Half

New, more scenic route for charitable, early season half marathon...

Runners looking for a winter challenge with a cause will be happy to hear that Edinburgh's Innocent Half Marathon will return with an 8 February date and a brand new, 'more scenic' route to boot!

Starting and finishing at Queen Margaret University in Newcraighall, the updated course takes participants along quiet roads and well-loved Edinburgh pathways, including the Brunstane Burn Walkway and the historic Innocent Railway, which passes under the shadow of Arthur’s Seat.

With just 150 metres of climb, the course is described as fairly flat and fast, making it ideal for anyone training for a spring marathon or seeking an early-season goal. Organisers told us: "This new route offers a blend of countryside and city views before leading runners back to QMU for a post-race buffet and well-earned medal."

The event is organised in support of three Scottish children’s charities (Richmond’s Hope, Kidney Kids Scotland and Firefly International), each stride taken will help children affected by bereavement, illness and conflict, ensuring that every mile contributes to making a difference.

Perfectly timed for runners preparing for major spring events, the Innocent Half offers the chance to test fitness levels, enjoy a friendly and scenic race atmosphere, and give back to causes that matter.
