Your Cheadle Spring 5 needs you
Enjoy a scenic 5 mile race followed by a drink and a waffle.
Follow the fast, flat Alsager 5 with the undulating and attractive Cheadle Spring 5 (Sunday 5 March) for a different challenge and help local charities along the way. There are prizes for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd men and women and the winning male and female in each age group...
One of two races from Cheadle Running Club, the Spring 5 is a great value for money event - who doesn't love that in the current financial climate - which goes on a tour around Cheadle and the surrounding area. Starting at 10am from Cheadle Academy, runners will pass historic buildings from the Victorian and Georgian eras and St Giles Roman Catholic Church known as ‘Pugin’s Gem’ on a well marked and marshalled course.
The race is a mix of town and country in a location which is the gateway to the Churnet Valley and Staffordshire Moorlands. It’s also ideally placed for the Peak District (and Alton Towers!).
Participants will be clapped and cheered from start to finish and receive a medal for their efforts. Then replace the lost calories at Hugo’s Bar Hire and its hot and cold drinks, fresh milkshakes, waffles and snacks.
Last year’s race was, sadly cancelled due to a low number of entries so the organisers are hoping there’ll be a larger turnout this time. It’s supported by Ken Rushton and NSRRA.

It will be interesting to compare finishing times from the Alsager 5 and Cheadle Spring 5...
