The Mallard Cake Dash is organised by Trident Sports Events and takes place at Westwood Lakes near Boston, Lincolnshire. The event includes both 10K and 5K races and has quickly established itself as a popular autumn fixture, welcoming runners, joggers and walkers to an inclusive day of road running.
The routes start and finish beside The Mallard Bar and Lounge before passing the lakes, Westgate Woods and Jenny's Wood. The mainly traffic free courses combine tarmac paths, quiet roads and woodland surroundings, creating fast and scenic races that appeal to runners chasing a personal best as well as those taking on their first organised event.
Chip timing, clearly marked routes, supportive marshals and bespoke finisher medals help deliver a well organised race day. Every finisher also receives a slice of cake and a hot drink, a distinctive tradition that gives the Mallard Cake Dash its name and has helped make it one of Lincolnshire's most recognisable autumn running events.
