Killin For A Great Time!
With its stunning natural setting and friendly atmosphere, this end-of-summer event is a must-do...
The Killin 10K and 5K makes its return on 23 August, offering runners another chance to enjoy one of Scotland’s most scenic events. First held in 2011, it remains the longest-running event hosted by its organisers, Tay Fitness Events, and will provide the grand finale for the Run Like L 10K Series.
Runners in both distances start and finish in Breadalbane Park and enjoy the rare experience of crossing the spectacular Falls of Dochart. From there, the routes split, each offering a unique journey through the Highland landscape before rejoining for a final 500-metre stretch to the finish.
The 10K route leads runners out of the village and into Glen Lochay, revealing impressive views of the River Lochay and the Tarmachan Range. The 5K course runs parallel to Loch Tay, taking runners across the River Lochay and out toward the head of the loch.
A fun run is also on the schedule and will take place entirely within the park. Covering approximately 1.1K over two laps, it provides the perfect opportunity for children and families to take part. The course is lined with supporters and features commentary from well-known compere Dougie Robertson. All participants receive a medal and bottle of water at the finish.
This much-loved event is supported by the local community and has been recognised nationally. In 2020, it was awarded third place in the Best 10K in Scotland category at the Running Awards, based on its 2019 edition.
