Historic Floors Castle Hosts Kelso 10K Return
Borders mixed terrain race returns...
The Kelso 10K returns on Sunday 12 July 2026 with runners once again heading to the grounds of Floors Castle for one of the Scottish Borders’ most distinctive summer races. Organised in partnership with Kelso Civic Week, the event takes place entirely within the historic castle estate near Kelso.
The 10K course combines road and trail sections across the scenic Floors Castle grounds, with runners tackling estate roads, uneven tracks and gravel paths through the parkland surroundings. Although highly runnable, the mixed terrain layout adds a different feel from a traditional road 10K, particularly if conditions turn soft after rain.
The race has developed a strong following since moving fully into the Floors Castle estate, with runners praising both the scenery and the unique race setting. Supporters are also able to enjoy the wider Kelso Civic Week atmosphere across the weekend.
With panoramic views across the Borders countryside and the backdrop of Scotland’s largest inhabited castle, the event offers a memorable summer race experience alongside a competitive 10K challenge. The course remains suitable for club runners, experienced racers and those looking to step into mixed terrain racing.
Registration and race facilities are based within the Floors Castle grounds, with refreshments available after the finish. Entries are now open ahead of the 2026 edition, with organisers again expecting strong demand for the popular Borders event.
Entries are available here via Entry Central.
