Chasewater Easter Egg Race Set To Be A Cracker
A choice of two distances and this egg-cellent medal as a reward
It’s the Chasewater Easter Egg 10K & 5K this weekend (Sunday 9 April) which will be the perfect way to burn off those extra Easter calories. Go hard and fast for prizes or take it steady and run in Easter fancy dress...
The event is one of four races from Nice Work this Easter: the other three are the Bridlington Easter 5 Mile Dash on Good Friday, the Llandudno Easter 5K Promenade Dash on Saturday and the London Easter 10K on Easter Monday. All of which are well organised and friendly events with an Easter themed medal for every finisher along with seasonal goodies.
The Easter Bunny is bringing a one or two lap race to Chasewater Country Park in Burntwood, Staffordshire which will be well marked and marshalled throughout. Dry, sunny weather has been forecast for Sunday making it good news for anyone looking to run in a costume as part of the occasion. There's nothing worse than a soggy Superman!
Children are more than welcome to take part and there are two chip timed races for them at 10am.
These will be followed by the 10K and 5K at 10.30am starting from outside the Innovation Centre. Runners complete a loop around the centre then head off in a clockwise direction on paths and trails round the reservoir to enjoy the views as they continue along their lap (or two).
The men’s course record for 10K is 33:56; the women’s course record is 42:02 so there's a good chance that these could go with the favourable weather conditions.
Nice Work is known for their quality medals which will be presented to each runner and their Easter one is no exception. Bg your medal then tuck back into the chocolate. Happy Easter everyone.
