Fright-Filled Fun Run
Runners in the North East are in for a frightful treat this October...
Spooky season is set to bring an extra chill to the North East later this month as the Halloween 5K Trail returns to Trimdon Grange Community Centre on Wednesday 29 October. Organised by Muddy Roads, the midweek evening run promises an atmospheric blend of running and fright-filled fun.
The course takes participants deep into the haunted woods of Trimdon, where ghouls, ghosts and other eerie characters are waiting to surprise anyone brave enough to enter. Runners are encouraged to embrace the theme and arrive in costume, whether that means terrifying monsters, light-hearted spooky outfits or creative Halloween twists. The atmosphere will be as competitive as it is playful, with prizes on offer for the first three male and female finishers.
Those who make it through the woods will be rewarded with a cauldron of homemade soup and a bread roll, alongside a few ghoulish treats to mark their achievement. Organisers told us: "With demand already high, places are filling up quickly for what has become one of the region’s most anticipated seasonal runs."
The event offers a perfect way to liven up the middle of the week while celebrating Halloween in style. Whether you’re racing for a podium place or just hoping to escape the ghosts and goblins of the forest, this year’s trail promises to be bigger, better and scarier than ever.
