Boys & Girls Come Out To Run!
Sign up, get training and be part of something special this September...
Edinburgh’s city centre will once again come alive with the sound of thousands of pounding feet as the Women’s and Men’s 10K events return on 21 September, with runners guaranteed a course packed with iconic landmarks.
Starting on the historic Royal Mile, the route takes participants past the Scottish National Gallery and into the lush surrounds of Princes Street Gardens, all framed by the city’s most famous feature, Edinburgh Castle. From there, runners pass the Scott Monument, the Scottish Parliament, Holyrood Palace and Arthur’s Seat before entering the vibrant Grassmarket area. This bustling section marks the halfway point, where the support of the crowd helps carry runners through the final stretch to a grandstand finish at Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium.
But there is far more to these events than the route itself. The Women’s and Men’s 10K are designed to be inclusive, supportive and empowering, offering a judgement-free space for people of all abilities and backgrounds to come together and take part.
Organisers say: "Come and kick-start your journey to better health, fitness and happiness. Whether you are new to running, returning after a break or a seasoned athlete looking for a fresh challenge, the 10K events are a positive and proactive way to build confidence and motivation. Many also use the races as a chance to raise funds and awareness for causes close to their hearts."
The day promises not only a fantastic running experience but also excellent race-day support. All participants will receive a wicking finisher’s T-shirt, a medal and distance keyring, a finisher’s pack, accurate chip timing and hydration stations along the route and at the finish line.
