Burwarton Burn Trail Run

New Trail Race At Shropshire Show

If you’re looking for a rewarding trail run in a beautiful countryside setting, this brand new event should not be missed...

A new and exciting addition to the Burwarton Show will see runners take on a scenic trail challenge with the launch of the Burwarton Burn Trail Run in 2025. Taking place on show day itself, Saturday 2 August, this event offers both 5K and 10K options and promises a stunning route through private parkland and farmland on The Boyne Estate.

Starting and finishing in the main arena, runners will enjoy undulating terrain, sweeping rural views of Brown Clee and the added thrill of crossing a brook not once but twice. Whether you’re looking to chase a personal best or simply take part for fun, the course is suitable for all types of runners. The 5K is a single loop and 10K entrants will complete the loop twice.

Every finisher will receive a medal and goody bag, with bespoke handmade keepsakes awarded to winners along with a £100 charity donation prize to a cause of their choice. The race starts at 6.30pm, rounding off a full day of show activity with an energising evening challenge.

Free parking is available in the main show car park, and runners can celebrate post-race with a live band and admission to the members bar. It’s the perfect way to cap off a day at the Burwarton Show, which offers a packed programme for all the family. From livestock competitions and equine events to rural demonstrations and agricultural displays, the show is a highlight of the Shropshire summer calendar.
