The Birmingham and Black Country Half Marathon is a distinctive point to point race from Wolverhampton City Centre to Brindley Place in Birmingham. Runners are seeded by predicted finishing time and start in waves, creating a time trial style event that welcomes both competitive runners and those taking on a personal challenge.
The largely flat route follows the Birmingham Canal Navigations on a mixture of gravel towpaths, unmade trails and paved sections. Locks and bridges provide the only significant climbs, while the 360 metre Coseley Tunnel is one of the race's defining features. Floating water stations on canal barges add another memorable element to the course.
The event is fully supported with marshals, regular drink stations, a bespoke finisher's medal and a goody bag. Finishing in Brindley Place provides a memorable conclusion to a Half Marathon that offers a running experience unlike any other in the Midlands.
