The Battle of the Brampton Valley Way is a 28 mile Ultra Marathon held on the traffic free Brampton Valley Way between Market Harborough and Northampton. Runners choose to represent either Leicestershire or Northamptonshire, starting from opposite ends of the route and meeting along the course in a unique county versus county challenge.
Following a flat and fast out and back route on hard packed trails, the event offers an accessible introduction to ultra distance running while still providing a rewarding endurance test. The course passes through the Northamptonshire countryside and includes the distinctive Brampton Valley railway tunnels, creating a memorable long distance running experience with a competitive twist.
