The Wythall and Hollywood 10K & 5K is back on 22 June, offering runners of all abilities the chance to take part in a fast, flat course with a fantastic community atmosphere. Since its launch in 2010, the event has grown in popularity, drawing top club runners as well as newcomers eager to experience the thrill of race day.

For families looking to join in the fun, Paula Radcliffe’s Families on Track relay will also be part of the event. Designed for all ages and fitness levels, this 5K team challenge allows parents, kids, grandparents, and friends to work together to complete the distance in their own way. The enclosed, safe course features three lap distances (1K, 500m and 250m) giving teams the flexibility to mix and match their runs before joining together for a celebratory sprint to the finish.

Organisers say: "Places are expected to sell quickly, so runners are encouraged to sign up soon to secure their spot. Participants can also use the event as an opportunity to support a great cause by fundraising for our official charity partner, Acorns Children’s Hospice."

Beyond the races, the event will feature food, entertainment, and a buzzing atmosphere for spectators and runners alike. Every participant will receive a medal to mark their achievement, making it a memorable day for all involved.

In 2024, nearly 300 runners took on the 10K course, with Jonathan Carter of Birmingham Running Athletics & Triathlon Club (BRAT) crossing the finish line first in 32:42, while Fay Lucas of Bournville Harriers led the women’s race in 42:37.

With its welcoming atmosphere, smooth organisation and strong community support, the Wythall and Hollywood 10K continues to be a highlight of the local running calendar. Whether you’re taking part solo, with a friend, or as part of a family team, this event promises a great day of fun and fitness.
