Worcester Festival Run

Families Run Together At Festival Event

Worcester's festival races offer a summer's day out for the whole family...

The popular Worcester Festival 5K Race and 2K Family Fun Run/Walk are set to return on 17 August for their fifth year, bringing fancy dressed running fun to the banks of the River Severn once more.

Organised by Worcester Festival in partnership with Black Pear Joggers, the event features two distances. The 5K race follows a scenic route starting and finishing at Diglis Playing Fields, taking runners on a loop along the river through Navigation Road, over Worcester Bridge and back via Bromwich Parade and Malvern Pedway.

Speaking about the route, organisers say: "With a mix of tarmac, paved paths and a short grassy section at the start and finish, it’s a flat and accessible course ideal for beginners and experienced runners alike."

For families, the 2K fun run offers a relaxed, off-road route through the Cherry Orchard Local Nature Reserve. This event is free to enter, though donations to Worcester Festival are welcomed to help support future activities.

Both events promise a festive atmosphere with medals for all participants and prizes for the best fancy dress. There will be face painting, a play area and an appearance from Percy Peacock - the festival mascot. Refreshments including ice cream and drinks will be available on site to keep everyone fuelled and refreshed.
