The scenic route from historic Windsor will take runners along the Thames Path to King’s Meadow in Reading, and back. The route has a total of 10 legs and 9 handover stops.
The 114km course along the Thames Path is a mix of paved road, grassland and gravel paths, with runners having to navigate the footpath gates, fields and bridges, as well as taking care through the towns and across roads, all making the race much more interesting and challenging.
Like in a traditional ekiden, each leg will be run by a different member of the team, each starting and finishing with a tasuki sash handover point.
