Fancy a Bimble this winter?
Expect a challenge at this beautiful scenic 5 mile run.
Time to get off the tarmac and on to the trail at the Winter Bumble Bimble (Sunday 27 November) with 5 miles through some stunning countryside in Bromsgrove then recover with a pint of real ale or three at the post run party at the Park Gate Inn.
This is the time of year when thoughts turn to...no, not Christmas as yet but off-road running for a change and being close to nature with like minded runners and The Winter Bumble Bimble gives you just that opportunity.
Starting and finishing at Park Gate Inn, the 5 mile route is a mix of fields, trails and woodland and lots of lovely mud. Not forgetting the kissing gates and stiles along the way. It showcases the Dodford countryside and Nutnells Wood and is a delightfully muddy introduction to the rough stuff.
There are steep climbs and downhill sections too. A water station is situated at 2.5 miles.
Is there any road? Very little is the answer.
It all begins with a run briefing at 9.45am, followed by the Bumble Bimble itself at 10am. The course is marked and there are marshals at various points to support and encourage everyone to the end.
Finishers receive an official time and a bespoke medal for their efforts then a quick change of shoes/clothes and into the pub for restorative food and drink.
This is where you really discover a taste for social trail running...
