Skedaddle To Speyside

Speyside's fantastic 10K trail run is back this October...

Speyside can now say it is known for something a little more 'active' than its thriving whisky scene, with news that the Skedaddle Speyside 10K will return to the area in 2024 after a very successful inaugural outing last autumn. Organisers said: "After the great success launching our 10K trail event in 2023 we are back so please join us on 13 October for more of the same. We have to limit our entries to 150 and this event may fill quickly!"

The race will see runners set off from Archiestown Village Square before heading up into Elchies woods with a gradual incline for around one mile on wide land management firetracks before becoming more undulating with great views towards both the Little and Meikle Conval hills and the mighty Ben Rinnes.

The route will then become narrower and muddier before descending into a fast downhill section of the Mannoch Road, again with stunning views of the Speyside skyline and across to the Cairngorms. The route continues down and round the right hand side of the Cardhu Reservoir towards the Highland Cows. It is just past this point that runners will reach the finish line at the world famous home of Johnnie Walker - Cardhu Distillery.

There is a treat in store for all those crossing the finishing line with an optional complimentary dram courtesy of Cardhu Distillery for all entrants aged over 18yrs and spectators to enjoy. Whisky not your thing? Then you will be pleased to hear that there will also be coffee and cakes for sale which you can enjoy as you soak up the spectacular views of the countryside.
