The Stephen Price Memorial 10K is back on Sunday 11 September with a scenic route, prizes from Derby Runner and an after party at The Malt in Aston-on-Trent. Runners will come together to remember a talented athlete who was a keen supporter of local races always with a smile on his face. 

Stephen Price – known as ‘Pricey’ in the Derby running community - was the chairman of UK Netrunner and well liked by all who met him. He was known for his distinctive running outfit, in particular the blue, white and red headband and sweatbands and his ‘airplane’ move at the end of a race. 

The fit and active family man sadly passed away too soon in 2018 at the age of only 37.  

Part of the Run Derby Race Series, the Stephen Price Memorial 10K is a fitting way to commemorate the life of this dedicated runner. Participants complete a two loop course consisting of woodland trails, roads and canal paths that starts and finishes on the playing fields at Aston-on-Trent: not forgetting to do Stephen’s trademark celebration as they cross the line. 

There is a 2 Mile Family Fun Run on a section of the same course used for the 10K. 

Sponsor Derby Runner will present prizes of vouchers for the top three men and women. Every finisher receives a medal. 

Then relax and enjoy the rest of the day at village pub The Malt, sampling their food, drink and entertainment with others. All proceeds from the event go to three charities/groups chosen by daughter Freya which includes a school Parents’ Association where Freya is a pupil.  

The organisers welcome extra pairs of hands on the day to help with marshalling.
