Scurry Around Vogrie

New Half Marathon Distance At Vogrie

Sign up for a scenic start to the new year on one of Midlothian’s most beautiful trail networks...

Runners will take to the trails of Vogrie Country Park on 18 January 2026 for the sixth edition of the Scurry Around Vogrie Country Park Trail Running Festival. Set in the heart of the Tyne Valley, this popular event offers a choice of distances including a half marathon, 10K, 5K and a 1.6K fun run for younger participants.

Organised by Scurry Events, the festival promises scenic, clearly marked mixed terrain routes that wind through the park’s woodlands, estate paths and countryside trails. Each race starts and finishes in front of the park’s striking Victorian baronial manor house - a fantastic backdrop to proceedings!

A highlight of the 2026 edition will be the introduction of the new Jump Ship Brewing Half Marathon route, a two-lap mixed terrain challenge that passes through and around Pathhead, home to Jump Ship Brewing’s headquarters. The route takes in the picturesque Tyne Valley before returning to Vogrie for the finish line.

The 10K race features two laps of the 5K course, designed to test runners with a blend of woodland paths, grassy tracks and countryside sections. The fun run provides an opportunity for younger or less experienced runners to enjoy the park’s varied terrain in a safe and welcoming setting.

After the races, participants can enjoy drinks and snacks with further refreshments available at the park’s Tree Top Café. Each finisher will receive a race memento as a keepsake from the event.
