Track Fever Returns
Don’t miss your chance to get involved in one of the friendliest and fastest running events of the summer...
Get ready for another season of speed and sunshine as the Running Bear Track Summer Mile Series returns for 2025, and it’s shaping up to be bigger and better than ever. Following a sell-out success last year, the Running Bear team is once again inviting runners of all levels to take on the magic of the mile in a fun, fast and friendly atmosphere.
Organisers say: "Whether you’re a seasoned track athlete or haven’t stepped on a track since school, our inclusive events promise an exciting evening of racing, cheering and celebrating."
The series kicked off at Macclesfield in April and now turns its attention to Stoke-on-Trent, where the track event lands at Northwood Stadium on 6 June. Heats start at 6.30pm and runners will be grouped by predicted times to ensure competitive and enjoyable racing across the board.
Organisers are keen to emphasise that it’s not all about winning, it’s about turning up, giving it a go and leaving with a grin on your face. But for those with a competitive edge, chip timing, live results to your phone and prizes for top finishers and age category winners await. Spot prizes are also up for grabs, with a £1 donation from every entry going to The Joshua Tree charity.
There’ll be music to lift your pace, New Balance shoes to test on the track and refreshments available throughout the night. Spectators are encouraged to come along and add to the buzz, whether they’re cheering you on or just soaking up the feel-good vibes.
And if you can’t make the Stoke event, don’t worry, the third and final race in the series returns to Macclesfield on 18 August, giving runners one more chance to chase that elusive mile PB under the summer skies.
