Run the Runway Comes To Perth Airport
Head to Perth Airport for a memorable night on the tarmac in aid of a vital Scottish emergency service...
Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA) is inviting runners of all abilities to take part in its inaugural Run the Runway event at Perth Airport on 6 September. Wee Run Events are working in partnership with SCAA to bring the exciting new event to life.
A spokesperson said: "Join us for our first ever Run the Runway event at Perth Airport and support Operation Skyward! We're offering you the chance to run around the airfield of our base at Perth Airport whilst raising vital funds to support the launch of our new H145 D3 air ambulance later this year."
This unique running experience offers participants the rare opportunity to run either 2.5K, 5K or 10K along the airfield at Perth Airport after flight operations have ceased for the evening. With a flat and fast-paced course, it’s an ideal setting for chasing a personal best.
Organisers explain: "This event is designed to help raise an additional £2 million required in 2025 to fund SCAA’s enhanced operational capabilities. As a fully publicly funded service, SCAA relies entirely on donations to continue delivering life-saving care across Scotland."
All entrants will receive a Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance branded t-shirt, a bespoke finisher’s medal and full fundraising support, including access to online fundraising platforms and promotional materials. On the night, runners can also enjoy entertainment and a group warm-up before the race, as well as free parking, water stations and post-race snacks.
