The Run the Blades 10K is organised by Breaking Strain and takes place at Whitelee Wind Farm near Eaglesham, south of Glasgow. The event is a Friday evening trail race held within ScottishPower Renewables’ Whitelee Wind Farm, one of the UK’s largest onshore wind farms.
The 10K trail course follows the access tracks and trails of Whitelee Wind Farm, taking runners through open moorland landscapes surrounded by wind turbines. The rolling route provides an introduction to trail running with a challenging climb near the finish.
The event features chip timing, live results, marshals, route signage, on site parking, a finisher medal and goody bag. A lively event village with refreshments and a supportive atmosphere adds to the distinctive experience of this unique wind farm race.
