Run Bolton Abbey Is Back!

Every step at this event helps to raise vital funds for palliative care and bereavement support...

Run Bolton Abbey will return on 9 November, once again inviting runners of all ages and abilities to take on a trail challenge in the stunning grounds of the Bolton Abbey Estate near Skipton. Organised in aid of Sue Ryder, the event offers a choice of distances, with every step helping to raise vital funds for palliative care and bereavement support.

Participants can choose from a 10K, 10 mile, half marathon or a 2.3 mile fun run for families. All routes showcase the estate’s spectacular autumn scenery and give runners the rare chance to access areas not normally open to the public. Courses are a mix of woodland trails, open land, paths and tracks, providing a challenging but rewarding test for trail runners.

Every finisher will receive a bespoke medal crafted from fallen trees within the estate, while organisers will also plant a tree for each participant. Races start in waves from 9am, with a one-minute silence held at 11am to mark Remembrance Day.

With chip timing, breathtaking surroundings and a warm community atmosphere, Run Bolton Abbey has become a highlight of the running calendar in Yorkshire. Fundraising is encouraged but not mandatory, with every donation supporting Sue Ryder’s essential care services.
