Rothley 10K Returns in 2025

This Leicestershire 10K promises an unforgettable night of sport and charitable spirit...

Leicestershire's Rothley 10K is set to return on Tuesday 3 June, bringing together runners, families and the local community for a fantastic evening of athletic challenge and charitable giving.

Now a firm fixture on the regional running calendar, the 10K race takes participants on two scenic laps through Rothley village and the surrounding Leicestershire countryside. The route, described by past participants as both tough and rewarding, is well supported with residents lining the streets to cheer runners along every hill and bend.

Ahead of the main race, the ever-popular Joe’s Jog will return, giving children the chance to take part while supporting the Joe Humphries Memorial Trust – a local charity raising awareness of sudden heart conditions in young people.

All proceeds from the Rothley 10K go to LOROS Hospice, with title sponsor Mattioli Woods once again covering all operational costs. The 2024 event raised over £38,000, and the goal for 2025 is to surpass that total. With more than 1,000 runners expected to take part, organisers hope this year’s edition will break both fundraising and participation records.

Last year’s race saw strong performances, with Will Clarke finishing first in 33:15 and Emma Brown leading the women in 39:34. But for many, it’s the community atmosphere that makes Rothley 10K a standout event. One runner summed it up best: “Tough course, brilliantly marshalled, and so many locals out cheering - it made the whole thing so enjoyable, even the hills!”
