The River Ayr Way Ultra is a 40 mile ultra marathon and relay event in Ayrshire, following the River Ayr Way from Glenbuck Loch to Ayr. The route takes runners through a mix of rural trails, riverside paths and countryside landscapes across the length of the trail.
The course is mainly off road with some road and tarmac sections, passing woodland, open countryside and small Ayrshire villages along the way. Relay teams can split the route into sections, creating a flexible endurance challenge across one of Scotland’s best known long distance running routes.
