Remembrance Run is returning to Ferry Meadows, one of the largest country parks in the region. Located less than three miles from Peterborough city centre, in the heart of Nene Park, the area’s varied landscapes make it a favourite destination for thousands of visitors throughout the year.

The event offers two timed options: a six-hour run starting at 9 am, or a four-hour run starting at 11 am. The format is simple and flexible—participants run as far as they can within their chosen time. As long as you leave base camp before 5:59:59, you are allowed to head out for one final lap. The course is a 5.3K loop through the forest, featuring gravel footpaths and some grassy sections, making it a multi-terrain route.

Runners can complete as many or as few laps as they like, and there is the option to rest between laps before heading back out. A standard “heavy half marathon” is five laps, with the option to increase this to six or seven on the day. A standard ultra marathon is nine laps, with the flexibility to extend this up to twelve laps depending on time and ability.

This event is suitable for everyone, whether you are completing your first official 5k, 10k, half marathon, full marathon, or ultra marathon, or adding to an already impressive tally. It is particularly ideal for those looking to achieve a marathon distance, or even push further into ultra territory, without the complexities of traditional trail ultras. The course requires minimal navigation, no specialist kit, and includes an aid station at every lap, making logistics straightforward.

Parking is available on site and is chargeable. From the parking area and nearby facilities, including toilets and payment machines, the start arch and gazebos will be clearly visible. The event will be based at the Lakeside Centre on the watersports side of the park. From the car park, follow the visible gazebos towards the Lakeside Centre, where registration takes place and bib numbers can be collected.

The race headquarters and base camp are located at the start and lap point, where the water and aid station will also be set up. The terrain consists of country park footpaths and grassy areas. Road trainers are generally suitable, although trail shoes may be useful depending on weather conditions leading up to the event.

All finishers will receive a bespoke medal at the end of the race, unless the finisher medal option has been selected, in which case a non-event-specific medal will be provided.

For those starting at 11 am, there will be a two-minute race pause during the event. Please note that this is a cupless event, so all participants should bring their own bottles or cups for refilling.
