Record-Breaking Robin Hood Half
Record-breaking Robin Hood Half Marathon lights up Nottingham...
The streets of Nottingham were filled with energy and excitement on Sunday (28 September) as more than 14,000 runners took part in the Robin Hood Half Marathon and Mini Marathon, making the 2025 edition the biggest and most successful yet.
From elite athletes to first-time participants, runners of all abilities came together for a day that combined sport, community and charity. With 22 official charity partners represented, thousands of pounds were raised for good causes as participants chased personal bests or simply enjoyed the atmosphere.
There were impressive performances at the front of the field. Euan Wilson won the men’s race in 1:09:32, just ahead of Philip Neilson in 1:09:55, with Simon Davis in third. The women’s race was won by Amy Lowe in 1:17:46, followed by Polly Moreland in 1:20:22 and Amelie Kaas in 1:23:40.
The day also introduced new features, including a Women’s Zone, a space where female runners could rest, breastfeed or take a moment out if needed. Adding to the sense of occasion, Robin Hood, the Sheriff of Nottingham and Little John joined in the festivities, while local star Vicky McClure started the races and cheered runners from the sidelines.
Race Director Judith Manson hailed the event as a resounding success. She said: “This year has been absolutely incredible. We’ve seen record numbers of participants, phenomenal support from our charity partners, and an amazing turnout from the local community. It’s been a celebration of sport, health, and togetherness - and we couldn’t be prouder.”
Excitement is already building for next year’s race, which will take place on 27 September. Early bird entries are now open. If you'd like to know more, visit the Robin Hood Half Marathon website.
