The Muddy Roads 5K Summer Series is back for 2025, promising six incredible races across some of the most scenic routes in the North East. Whether you’re a club runner chasing a PB or just fancy a fun evening jog, this series is for everyone.

With one event per month from April to September, participants will take on a mix of terrains, from breathtaking trails to stunning coastal views. The atmosphere is what makes this series special – a community-driven event where encouragement, support and good vibes come as standard.

This year if you sign up for all six races, you will get one event completely free! Plus, every participant who signs up for the series will be entered into a prize draw to win one of five sports massages.

The races kick off at 6.30pm, and anyone aged 12 or over is welcome to join. There’s plenty of parking at most venues (limited at some), and all locations have essential facilities sorted.

For those looking for a little extra motivation, over £1000 in prizes are up for grabs across the series. The top male and female runners will each take home £100, thanks to Up & Running in Darlington. Young athletes aren’t left out either – junior cash prizes are up for grabs for the top three male and female runners aged 12-17.

With a mix of competitive spirit, camaraderie and stunning routes this is one summer series you won’t want to miss!
