Manchester's Medal Options

With its flat course, vibrant atmosphere and customisable medal, the Manchester Half promises to be more than just a race...

The countdown is on for the return of the Manchester Half, which will once again bring thousands of runners to the streets of the city this autumn. Taking place on 12 October, the 13.1-mile challenge starts and finishes near Old Trafford and has grown into the biggest half marathon in the region. The 2024 event welcomed more than 24,000 participants, and this year’s race looks set to be another unforgettable celebration of Manchester’s spirit.

Since its launch in 2016, the Manchester Half has become a firm favourite with runners of all abilities thanks to its flat route, superb organisation and the unwavering support of the crowds who line the course. It is widely recognised as one of the UK’s best city half marathons and aims to reflect the diversity, pride and determination of Manchester itself.

In addition to the buzz around the race, organisers have revealed details of this year’s medal, which has been designed to be as personal as the achievement it represents. For 2025, runners will receive a medal with a rotating centre, allowing them to choose from six different messages to reflect their own journey. Options include Charity Champion, We Did This Together, Personal Best, First Half, I ❤️ MCR and Challenge Complete.

The medal marks the final year of the event’s Express Yourself campaign, which has encouraged participants to celebrate what makes their run unique. Whether runners are tackling their first half marathon, chasing a personal best or taking part for a cause close to their heart, the 2025 medal allows them to tell their own story.
